About this Trip
With its unique cuisine, rich culture, some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, breathtaking waterfalls, and welcoming people, Brazil is the perfect place for service, adventure, and the sun on your shoulders!
Fly into Rio de Janeiro and quickly find yourself overlooking one of the New Seven Wonders of the World at Christ the Redeemer statue. Take a short flight to the beaches of Florianopolis where we will spend the remainder of our time serving and playing in Brazil.
Most days will include working side by side with the local people while we provide education and improvement projects at nearby schools and volunteer at a local orphanage. We will provide families with clean water filters and train them to utilize this basic necessity in their daily lives.
Get your surf on with private lessons on some of the most iconic waves and shorelines in the world. Check floating in waterfalls and swimming with turtles off your adventure list. Visit private beaches only accessible by boat and sand board down Joaquina Dunes that stretch from a nearby lake all the way to the ocean.
Shop at local markets and eat fresh seafood. Wrap up this epic service adventure while paragliding over a saltwater lake.
Justin and Lindsay Bowen, Founders, will be leading this expedition with Cannon and Julie Kuch who have spent years serving and living in the Florianopolis area.
Who can apply for a service expedition/trip?
Service trips are open to adults over the age of 18 or family groups. The minimum age of participants within a family group is 8 years old. If you are younger than 18 and would like to attend without your family, you must apply with a chaperone and obtain a parent consent form.
You will need to be able to effectively care for yourself and family members including allergies and other mental or physical restrictions. Participants should be healthy enough to participate in long days of working and playing hard with a rigorous schedule. Many expeditions also have portions of the trip that are filled with adventure, and sleeping accommodations may involve camping. Review the itinerary to be sure it is the right fit for you.
When are my trip fees due?
In order to hold your spot on an expedition, you must pay your $500 non-refundable deposit that will be applied toward trip fees.
November Expedition: Half of your trip fees are due August 1, and the remaining balance is due September 1, 2023.
