About this Trip

Embark on a journey across the globe to this beautiful Southeast Asian nation that boasts a tapestry of ancient grandeur and a warm culture. From bustling cities encircled by lush rice fields, you'll experience it all!

Fall in love with the Cambodian people as you serve them in a variety of capacities.  Serve in an orphanage and school that sits on an old landfill improving infrastructure and teaching primary age children classes.  Spend a day at the local children's hospital providing vision screenings and glasses fittings with our partner Charity Vision.  Eat dinner with locals in their home and be moved by their stories of finding success after being orphaned.  Build a library in a rural village and teach English to hundreds of impoverished children.  Create a sustainable financial ecosystem for a rural village by putting in a local garden, chicken coop, and grasshopper farm.  Provide clean water to rural families with our partner Water for Life and teach hygiene lessons to women.

Visit the famous Temples of Angkor, Ta Prohm, and Bayon Temples intricately carved and full of tales of a bygone empire. Find yourself forever changed as you learn the devastating history of the Cambodian genocide with a memorable visit to S-21 and the Killing fields, and even possibly meet survivors.  Meet local HEROrats and our adopted rats who are trained to find live landmines saving countless lives each year.

Eat delicious traditional meals and grow your tastebuds (and your courage) to the likes of crickets, water bugs, tarantulas, and rat!  Walk local markets by day and shop in the bustling Phnom Pehn night scene by night.

Cambodia has it all with unmatched humanitarian efforts, a beautiful culture of kindness, history, and adventure. Sign up today!

Who can apply for a service expedition/trip?

Service trips are open to adults over the age of 18 or family groups. The minimum age of participants within a family group is 8 years old. If you are younger than 18 and would like to attend without your family, you must apply with a chaperone and obtain a parent consent form.

You will need to be able to effectively care for yourself and family members including allergies and other mental or physical restrictions. Participants should be healthy enough to participate in long days of working and playing hard with a rigorous schedule. Many expeditions also have portions of the trip that are filled with adventure, and sleeping accommodations may involve camping. Review the itinerary to be sure it is the right fit for you.

Who are my expedition leaders?

Lindsay Bowen, ROAM Humanitarian Founders, will be leading this expedition. Lindsay is the founder and soul of ROAM Humanitarian which she brought to life in the heart of COVID 2020. With a Master’s of Science in Leadership, she had the skill set to create the mission and vision of the organization. She has a deep love and passion for humanity that is woven into every aspect of ROAM. Lindsay has always felt her purpose is to be a connector between people – those who want to serve and those across the world in need of help. She is the force of change and connection between the two, creating waves of goodness everywhere she goes and to every person she meets. Lindsay lives with her husband Justin, and their four incredible children in the mountains of Heber, Utah.
