About this Trip

Home to eight of the ten highest peaks in the world, Nepal is a magnet for adventurous travelers all over the globe.  This country is famous for its breathtaking landscapes including the Himalayan Mountains and Buddhist and Hindu temples.

ROAM with us on this women’s-only (16+) expedition as we connect with victims of trafficking, who call themselves "change makers", remodel an orphanage, work with a community art center to provide the arts to children in need, and offer priceless skills to rural single mothers at the ROAM Women's Center. The Nepalese women will take us under their wings as we serve them and they, in turn, serve us.

While in Nepal we will practice yoga, meditation and self-defense with well known instructors as we gaze out at the breathtaking Himalayas. We will explore Kathmandu, Durbar Square, and world famous temples as we learn of the unique and ancient culture of Nepal. With an opportunity for a once in a lifetime flight around the Himalayas (optional), see what the world is talking about when they put Nepal at the top of their bucket list.

We can't wait to serve, connect and explore as ROAMing women!

Questions about this trip?

SEE MORE FAQS

Who can apply for a service expedition/trip?

Service trips are open to adults over the age of 18 or family groups. The minimum age of participants within a family group is 8 years old. If you are younger than 18 and would like to attend without your family, you must apply with a chaperone and obtain a parent consent form.

You will need to be able to effectively care for yourself and family members including allergies and other mental or physical restrictions. Participants should be healthy enough to participate in long days of working and playing hard with a rigorous schedule. Many expeditions also have portions of the trip that are filled with adventure, and sleeping accommodations may involve camping. Review the itinerary to be sure it is the right fit for you.

Who are my expedition leaders?

Melissa Holmes, ROAM Humanitarian Director, travel enthusiast, and former United Nation's associate will lead this expedition (2024). Nepal has a special place in Melissa's heart and she can't wait to share her love for this country with you.

What discounts are available to me and my family?

$250 off for students (non-stackable)

$250 off for family/friend groups of six or more participants (non-stackable)

$250 for previous ROAMers (this is not your first ROAM Humanitarian expedition, non-stackable)

When are trip fees due?

Payment schedules are listed on our website under each individual trip tab. In addition, you will receive a welcome email and monthly invoice with the payment schedule attached as well.

We will not hold your spot without a non-refundable $500 deposit. Thereafter, there will be a deadline for half expedition fees due, and a final donation deadline.
